Cost Guide
Luxury and Exotic Car Rental Costs
A luxury car rental is estimated from $400–$2,500 per day, and an exotic car from $1,200–$4,000 per day, before deposits, insurance excess, mileage overage and delivery fees. This guide breaks down each component with worked examples.

Daily Rates by Category and Destination
| Category | Estimated daily rate |
|---|---|
| Luxury saloon | $400 – $900 |
| Luxury SUV | $500 – $1,200 |
| Entry exotic | $1,200 – $2,000 |
| Flagship exotic | $2,000 – $4,000 |
Deposits
Security deposits are held on a credit card at pickup and released after the vehicle is returned undamaged and within the agreed mileage. Luxury saloons typically require $500–$1,500; flagship exotics can require $5,000–$10,000. Deposits are not the same as the rental cost and are not charged unless damage, tolls or fines are identified.
Insurance and Excess
Basic liability coverage is typically included in the daily rate. The excess (or deductible) is the amount you remain responsible for in the event of damage, commonly $1,000–$2,500 for luxury vehicles and $2,500–$7,500 for exotics.
Many providers offer a reduced-excess or zero-excess waiver for an additional daily fee, and some credit cards or travel insurance policies offer supplementary coverage worth checking before purchasing the provider's waiver.
Mileage Limits and Overage
Luxury rentals often include unlimited or generous mileage; exotic rentals typically cap daily mileage at 100–150 miles with an overage charge of $3–$10 per mile. Requesting a higher mileage package at booking is usually more economical than paying overage after the fact.
Delivery and Collection Fees
Delivery within a city centre is often included or discounted; delivery to an airport, private terminal or outlying villa typically carries a fee scaling with distance, commonly $50–$300. Off-hours delivery or collection may carry a further surcharge.
Seasonal and Event Pricing
Rates rise significantly around major events — Monaco Grand Prix week, Art Basel Miami, and peak summer in Ibiza and the Riviera — sometimes doubling standard rates. Booking six to twelve weeks ahead of a major event is recommended for both availability and price.
Worked Examples
Example 1 — Weekend luxury saloon in Miami: 3 days at an estimated $500/day ($1,500), hotel delivery included, no excess waiver purchased. Estimated total before deposit: approximately $1,500 plus applicable taxes.
Example 2 — Three-day supercar in Dubai: 3 days at an estimated $1,800/day ($5,400) with a multi-day discount reducing the total to roughly $4,800, plus a $150 airport delivery fee and a $600 excess waiver. Estimated total: approximately $5,550 before deposit.
Common Mistakes
- Not checking the mileage allowance before a long coastal drive
- Assuming the daily rate includes reduced-excess insurance
- Booking during a major event without allowing extra lead time
- Overlooking tolls, which are usually billed separately after return
